A: DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing is a digital heat-transfer process that gained global popularity from 2020. Artwork is printed onto PET film with CMYK and white ink, coated with hot-melt adhesive powder and cured. The finished transfer is heat-pressed onto goods; peel the film after cooling. It requires no fabric pre-treatment and works on cotton, polyester blends, nylon, canvas and leather, delivering stretchy, opaque prints on light and dark textiles.
A: DTF transfers adhere to most woven and knitted textiles, plus select non-textile substrates.
It works on cotton, polyester, poly-cotton blends, spandex, nylon, canvas and suede leather.
It is less ideal for fabrics with heavy silicone coating or high-temperature sensitive materials. Unlike many heat transfer processes, DTF maintains vivid colors on both light and dark base goods.
The ideal DTF setup depends on your budget, order volume, and production needs.
Choose a setup that matches your daily workload, available space, and growth plans. Consider print quality, running costs, maintenance, and after-sales support before investing.
A: Is the current level stable. Durability depends on ink/film/powder quality and heat press settings. We have various solutions to adapt to different washing requirements and application needs
DTG prints ink directly onto cotton fabric and needs pre-treatment. DTF prints on PET film first then heat transfers. DTF supports more material types and lets you stock transfers for later pressing. DTG achieves a softer embed feel only on pure cotton.
DTF allows print shops to produce transfer films in-house, cutting dependence on third-party pre-made transfer suppliers.
With an in-house DTF line, you no longer need to purchase ready-made transfers externally.
Yes. DTF fits commercial print shops well thanks to broad fabric compatibility, flexible MOQs, simple operation and strong scalability. It supports custom apparel, promotional products and both small & bulk orders.
